Rebound
We have just finished reading this amazing book really enjoyed it. This is our display based around Charlie’s thoughts and feelings.

Rebound
We are slightly behind on the challenge at the moment, but we have absolutely loved Rebound (I have had lots of requests for The Crossover which will be in our school library soon!)
To finish our reading of the book, the children watched various poets (Rachel Rooney, AF Harrold and of course Kwame Alexander) perform their work, and then chose one from Rebound to perform themselves.
You can watch it by copying and pasting this link.
The book has been both a brilliant story and a fantastic way at exciting us about poetry 🙂

We worked together to find which 8 poems we felt best summarised the book.
Firstly, we debated which ones would be best and these are the ones we chose. We felt it was important to choose a few negative poems about the negative events which then led to him starting to rebound. We then chose more positive poems about when he was rebounding and then at the end when he has rebound and is a better place.https://drive.google.com/open?id=1qyH-8lIPQYdsqLOmKmXI6MZBMM2Z7XnA

20th Jan 2020, 9:37amAnother fantastic entry Wyndham. You have given the choice of poems a great deal of thought and we loved hearing you bring them to life by reading them aloud. It was a real treat! -

Wyndham Theatre
We chose the section where Pipa refuses to be left behind by Mila. We thought this was a very important section of the story because Pipa's character changes from a scared little sister to someone who is confident and determined. We also thought their relationship changed here because Mila started to see her as more than her little sister however, Rune still sees her as an inconvenience at this point.

20th Jan 2020, 9:23amWe were so impressed with your entry Wyndham. You have thought carefully about the section to turn into readers theatre and given excellent reasons. The way you have brought the characters to life through expression is superb too. Well done and thank you for entering. -
Weston’s RG challenge
A huge thank you to the Just Imagine team for sending such a wonderful package to our school. The children were thrilled by winning the challenge for A Wrinkle In Time, and the stationery sets and books will be a lasting reminder of their hard work. We are looking forward to the challenges in future.

A Wrinkle in Time trailer
The Reading Gladiators at Weston have really enjoyed A Wrinkle In Time, particularly the use of language, which we have been busy writing into our own notebooks.
We decided to make a film trailer for this challenge as we could tell the story whilst getting into role - we hope you enjoy it!
