    Wed Wabbit

Year 4 Reading Gladiators worked together to create this poem. It has 8 syllables in each line and it rhymes, because that's how most of the wimbleys speak. We also made sure that when we talked about Wed Wabbit we started each word with a 'w' so it sounded like him.

Ms Dormer typed it up for us for the picture because we spent so much time working on our poem that we ran out of time to draw it out and make it pretty!

Your preparation paid off. Your metre perfectly mirrors that of the Wimbleys. Well done!

The Tale of Angelino Brown – ‘A World of Pure Imagination’

Our Year 4 Reading Gladiators enjoyed making a montage of 'A World of Pure Imagination' They chose who was going to do their future self, dreams, something that scared them and their favourite things. The children thoroughly enjoyed this book and also completed some lovely book reviews for us to put on display in our school library for other children to see and read.

This is a wonderful riot of pure imagination. It looks as though you had great fun assembling this montage. It's lovely to hear that you are encouraging other children in the school to pick up the book and read it. Well done everyone.

    A world of pure imagination

My year 4 gladiators created this montage of the world from their imaginations. They decided the best way to show their imagination was through dreaming and a collage of drawings that represented this. They followed the wise wisdom of Ms Monteverdi... “draw with the soul, bring the image from your blood and bones”. Angelino Brown even embedded themselves into one of the children’s blood and bones, as their dream involved a future, much bigger Angelino! How amazing is that?

What amazing imaginations you have! That's a great quote from the book to inspire your artwork, I admit to being a little scared by the human spider. I think that represented the dark side of your imagination. Lovely to see you all here as well.

    The Tale of Angelino Brown

Year 4 at Whitley Park created lots of pictures at home over half term, and have combined them all to show the world of their imagination. The picture includes dragons, demons and dinosaurs, as well as scenes depicting parts of the book.

This collection of images shows how very different and unique our imaginations are. Keep imagining Whitley Park Gladiators!
  • The Tale of Angelino Brown

Our Gladiators really enjoyed the Tale of Angelino Brown. They liked how Angelino Brown made lots of people happy, they take him into their hearts. The ending reminded them lots of Pinocchio and how much Angelino makes Betty and Bert very happy.

  • Whitley Park are LOVING Angelino Brown

Year 4 at Whitley Park think that Angelino Brown is fantastic! We’ve read the first few chapters already and we can’t wait to read even more! Today we looked at Angelino’s Human traits and his Angel traits – we think he has more human traits than angel ones – what do you think?

So pleased to hear you enjoying the first title. On first meeting agreed; Angelino certainly appears more human than angel. I wonder if your views will change as the story progresses and you see the effect he has on those around him.
