I agree with you Ryan. Snakes are pretty amazing!
  • Experiencing life with no colour!

We used torchlight to read in a dark room. This helped us to think about faces with no expression and living on an island with no colour.

We often underestimate how powerful our expressions can be in giving people messages. I wouldn't like to live in a world with no colour.
  • Wendell’s magic hands

We used our torches, like Wendell’s hands, to pick out colour in the dark. When we saw the plant in the light it made us think of Wendell and Opal escaping through the castle gardens.

What a very clever idea Blenheim. Did it make you think differently about everyday colours?
  • Wendell’s World

When we finished reading Grey Island Red Boat, we discussed where we thought Wendell and Princess Opal might be travelling to. This led us to think, once again, about the island that Wendell came from. Some of the Gladiators chose to draw their ideas – one island even has a Christmas tree that is newly decorated every day!

A never ending Christmas tree! Now that sounds wonderful, but would it feel as magical on the 365th day as it would on the 1st day? You've given us something to think about. Lovely drawings everyone.
  • Shadow Puppets

One of our Year 2 Gladiators was so excited to make shadow puppets that she made them at home with her mum for the group to share!

Wow these are such beautiful puppets! How fantastic to have made them at home and then brought them in to use with your group.
  • Grey Island Red Boat in a boat! Exciting!

Year 2 Reading Gladiators are enjoying reading Grey Island Red Boat in our very own boat, in the glorious sunshine! #readingisfun

Some very creative reading spaces being suggested by Blenheim Reading Gladiators. I wonder if you will be able to find anything to suit the next book?
  • Blenheim Primary School

This afternoon we found our favourite spot in the library to have a glimpse of our first book.
