Updates

  • Our Favourite Books: Spooks and Scooters

Just Imagine comment: It’s lovely to see that Spooks and Scooters gets your vote. I wonder what you liked about it?

  • Another one for The cake, the wolf and the witch!

I like how you get a little taster of each fairy tale.

Just Imagine comment: It’s very clever isn’t it? Of course you must know a lot of fairy tales to be able to recognise them in the story. I am pleased that you enjoyed the book.

  • My Favourite Book: The Cake the Wolf and the Witch

The Cake, the wolf and the witch is my favourite book so far because it is very descriptive and adventurous. My favourite character is Max.

Just Imagine comment: It sounds as though you like your books to have a lot of excitement. Do you think Max was more adventurous by the end of the story?

  • Another One for the Red Prince

Just Imagine comment: Three cheers for the Red Prince! I wonder why you chose it as your favourite book so far?

  • Our Favourite Books

Just Imagine comment: Lovely to see you with your favourite books so far. Good to see that you appreciated the picture book as well as the novels.

  • Our favourite books so far!

Just Imagine comment: Hello Little Green Gladiators! Lovely to see you with your favourite books.

  • The Brockenspectre

Our Reading Gladiators had some questions before even opening the front cover of ‘The Brockenspectre’:
    1. Which genre is this book going to be?
    2. What is a ‘brockenspectre’?
    3. Will the book be scary?
    4. Would other Reading Gladiators recommend it (according to what they have read so far?)
We look forward to reading on and finding out…

Just Imagine comment: what thoughtful questions you posed. If you look on the website, you will see what some of the other Gladiators think about the book. Happy Reading!

  • The Challenge Begins

Welcome Gladiators.  Are you ready for the challenge?

You will be reading eight brilliant books with us this year. And you can tell us all about it, here on the Reading Gladiators website. We like to hear your thoughts and see photographs and videos of you work. You can also enter our monthly competitions to win prizes. And just for fun, find out how well you know a book by doing a quiz after you have finished reading it.

Have a look and see what other schools are doing in your area and across the country; you are bound to pick up some good ideas.

    Caroline, Sam and Nikki,
